Project: Lingmell River Naturalisation| Location: Lake District| Client: Haycock Associates
Project Description:

Bea Landscape Design was commissioned by Haycock Associates in 2007 to assist in the design and project management of a new bridge to cross Lingmell Beck at the head of the Wasdale Valley in the Lake District National Park.

Located with an SSSI on the edge of the Wastwater SAC the bridge design was developed to enable the naturalization of the river channel, to reduce localized flooding of the adjacent National Trust campsite and to improve the long term geomorphology and ecology of the beck.

Situated within an area voted as the nations favourite view at the bottom of Scarfell Pike the project has also involved extensive public engagement and detailed consultation with the Lake District National Park, Environment Agency and Natural England with planning approval won on appeal.
