Project Description:

Bea Landscape Design were appointed with architects Frank Shaw Associates as part of the Kier Construction design team to deliver the redevelopment of the external landscaping of the BGS Keyworth Headquarters campus including the new James Hutton Building, visitor entrance & shop and geological walk.

The commission included providing arboricultural & landscape consultancy services as part of a design and build contract developing the employers requirements on behalf of Kier Construction carrying out nursery visits and site inspections of the groundworks and landscape sub contract during the construction phase.

Completed in 2013 the project included the 130 metre long ‘Geological walk’ paved with natural stone supplied by CED Ltd laid out to represent the different geological periods with over 40 different types of rock used in its construction.
