Bea Landscape Design was appointed by Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council to provide concept, technical design, tender and contract administration services for the redesign of the early years’ playground at The Ridge Primary School in Stourbridge.  The practice also provided Principal Designer services under CDM Regulations.

The scheme mainly involved the renovation of the existing playground which was constructed only eight years earlier. The rotten softwood sleeper retaining walls were replaced with stone effect concrete gravity blocks; softwood sleeper planters were replaced with Oak and long-life softwood timber rounds. Additional planters and range of surfaces were also incorporated provide a variety of texture and all-weather use.

The works were carried out by HFN Landscapes and successfully completed on time for the new Sept ‘18 intake of pupils.
